Invisible Woman Myth
The Power of Being Seen
The Shift
I used to walk into a room and turn heads. Not because I was the most beautiful or the most stylish, but because I felt ALIVE. There was an energy I carried, a presence I hadn’t questioned.
Somewhere along the way – after the kids left, after the birthday candles started to require 2 cakes, after my marriage ended – I noticed something had shifted.
People didn’t look anymore. Not the way they used to.
It wasn’t sudden. It crept in slowly, like fog. I became less visible… not just to men, or to society, but heartbreakingly, to myself.

The Fade
There’s a myth we don’t talk about enough: that women, particularly after 50, fade into the background. As if our value was tied to the roles we once played – mother, wife, caretaker, doer-of-all-the-things. Once those roles changed, we were expected to gracefully step offstage. Quietly.
But here’s the truth I’m learning to live into: I was never meant to disappear. I am meant to rise.
Being seen, truly seen, doesn’t begin with other people. It begins with me. It begins with US!!
The Hard Truth
Invisibility isn’t always about how others view us.
It’s about how we view ourselves after years… decades… of prioritizing everyone else. We’ve spent so long being the background support crew that stepping into the spotlight of our own lives feels… awkward. Maybe even selfish.
But what if selfish is just another word for self-honoring?
There’s power in being seen– but first, we must see ourselves clearly. Not through the lens of youth or performance or approval, but through the lens of wisdom, resilience, sensuality, humor, and fire.
The REAL Secret
Here’s something I’ve noticed: when I show up fully in my own truth– unapologetic, curious, and alive – the world responds. Maybe not everyone. Maybe not right away. But the people who matter most? They see me. They feel me. They remember me.
And perhaps more importantly, I remember myself.
The power of being seen isn’t about reclaiming who you used to be. It’s about discovering the woman who’s been growing quietly beneath the surface all along. The one who doesn’t wait to be noticed to shine. The one who makes eye contact, speaks from her gut, wears what she wants, and dances without permission.
So here’s my challenge to you this week
Where in your life are you still hiding?
What would it look like to let yourself be seen – in all of your glorious, messy, beautiful fullness?
You don’t need to shout to be seen. You just need to stand in your truth and trust that the right people will feel your presence like a breath of fresh air on a hot summer night.
And if you’re not sure where to start, start here, with this small declaration:
I am no longer waiting to be chosen. I choose myself. I see myself. I celebrate who I am— fully, boldly, and unapologetically.
Tarot Card for the Week: The Page of Wands
This card is full of energy, curiosity, and self-expression. The Page is ready to step onto the stage of life and explore what’s possible.
She’s ready to:
Rekindle her inner spark
Speak up even if her voice shakes
Express herself in new ways with her voice, her body, and her power
Step fully into spaces where she’s been playing small
The Page doesn’t have all the answers yet, but she’s not waiting until she’s perfect. She’s showing up NOW— fueled by desire and curiosity.
